They also owned WNOE AM and FM in New Orleans...
The AM station played rock/top 40 back in the 70's. It was WTIX's rival station. WNOE FM turned into a country format in the 80's

Ken Boothe was The Investigative Reporter. Never be another one like him.

Who was the older white headed man with the deep voice who was on Good Morning Ark-la-miss in the 90's and maybe earlier. I have a lot of memories of waking up at my grandparents house to the sound of his and Judy Waggoner's voice and the smell of coffee.

Randy Ewing. If I remember right they forced Randy to retire due to his age and increasing fatness.

Jack and June did the morning show. They weren't married but they were like an old married couple. Jack would bitch about one thing after another and June would sit there and roll her eyes. June finally retired and Jack ran off a succession of female cohosts until they brought June back.
Jack was a curmudgeon but a lot of people wouldn't leave the house without his weather forecast.

I honestly have to laugh at this. I moved back to Monroe from Houston in 2018 after a hurricane wiped out my house down there and I got a pretty good job offer in West Monroe, so I am kinda like the unicorn since most people that leave Monroe never move back. My daughter was going into 4th grade and she went to Sallie Humble. Pretty big culture shock moving from suburb Houston to Monroe City Schools. One of the first kids she met said she was from Columbia and my daughter asked if she was from South America and she said no, it's a town on the way to Alexandria. I actually heard that from her teacher who overheard this little bit of conversation and she about busted a rib laughing.
I also got to be on the Morning Show with Jack and June in like 5th Grade which would have been about 1982 or so. BMX racing was all the rage back then and I used to race out at Chennault Park every weekend. I guess they wanted to interview some random kids so some KNOE people were at a race and picked a few of us out and asked if we could come on the show. It was pretty cool. I think a few of my buddies actually saw the episode and asked for my autograph lol.

Don't forget the after school children's show hosted by Mr. Wonder. He turned out to be a pedo.

For a small market, KNOE has excellent reporters. Guess there was plenty to report on.
Not so much anymore now that it is owned by Gray Media.

Randy Pruitt. He worked for 35 years for KNOE. Randy Ewing was an area State Senator I believe.

Ah, you're right! Randy Prewitt, I believe. He did the morning show most of my life.

I remember Gov. James A. Noe kept a large houseboat at the Forsythe dock on the Ouachita River. the upper deck was all covered with a canvas awning, with nice fringe on the edges. was named "Noe's Ark"

Haven't been to Monroe since the late 90's, but KNOE did put more emphasis on sports compared to other stations and markets I have lived in. That was really helpful before the internet.
