Anyone else notice that TV says Christmas when it was a big deal in early '00s to avoid

I've noticed that I hear Merry Christmas or Christmas a lot on TV, but back from like 2000 to 2010, there was a big stir amongst the public and even a sermon at my church of how the media would just say "Happy Holidays" or "X-mas" at the most.

I remember that being a big deal a while back, but hear Merry Christmas on TV now. No one seems to talk of it anymore.

To those first 2 downvotes:

Christmas is nothing more than a celebration of commercialism and greed.

Maybe we're better off if it is not referred to as Christmas.

Call it Saturnalia or The Winter Solstice Holiday.

Did you notice everyone started saying Christmas again when Trump was elected? It was a beautiful thing.

The libs didn’t take Christ out of Christmas.

Commercialism did.

Brother Thelonius started the war on Christmas in the year 1128.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Diwali, Happy 3rd Wednesday of the month…

I celebrate Christmas. But if someone is celebrating anything and wishes me well on that day, I will wish them well also.

Also not realizing that happy holidays means HOLY days. All the holy days surrounding Christmas, Advent, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the 11 days that follow and epiphany.
