Anyone else not a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright?

He’s by far and away the most famous American architect (probably most famous worldwide one honestly) but I’ve never liked much that he’s done.
His houses don’t seem livable and ushered in an era of bad architecture across the nation that focused on nothing but horizontal lines.

He was a fantastic designer and architect but a shite engineer.
I appraised one of his protege's houses in Birmingham. Place was stunning from a design point and much more practical the wright's

Was the Brady bunch house a FLW home?

I prefer his Prairie style designs over the later Usonian's.
The Usonian's can be pretty but they reflect his collectivist beliefs in that the rooms are often small with limited ceiling heights.
There is a Usonian in Ohio that was built for a tall, 6'4" or so, individual that looks odd as the proportions are off due to the additional height.

I've always liked the Tomek house.

Wonderful aesthetic, horrible upkeep.

There is a Frank Lloyd Wright house here in North Alabama. I have never understood the attraction to his designs.

Some of those look like high schools.

Falling Water had to be completely re-engineered. Really shitty structural design as previously noted.
I think only Talliesen West (adobe) was the only one worth a crap in engineering design

My dad, retired architect, really likes his stuff. However, he doesn’t like that his builds consistently went waaay over estimate.
He acts like that is damn near unethical in architecture.
