My temp usually reads 97.4-97.8

So, when if gets up to 98.8 or so, I don't feel good

Mine runs 96.8-97.2. And that is not unusual. (I am an RN)

Yes, 96.8.

My temp gets over 99 and I get dizzy.

I can thrive in extremely hot weather. Cold weather is a nightmare to me.

I keep my house much warmer than most people can tolerate. Summer and winter I am fine with 77-80 degrees.

I get it from my mother. She is the same way.

I always thought 98.6 was an average or close to everyone’s range. Probably read it on here or something.

Unless you go to the doctor sick.

They base all fever on 98.6. When you normally run 96.8 they act like 99+ is fine. "You have a slight fever."

A fever of 100 degrees will put me down. Of course they consider that only 1.4 degrees above "normal".

Have your thyroid checked. Symptoms of low body temp can be a sign of low thyroid levels. Make sure to check TSH, T3, and T4. It’s asimole lab test ordered from your doctor. If you’re energy levels are great and mental clarity is great then you may be good.

Mine also runs hi 96 low 97. So when I have 98. something my damn doc says that's normal.

Many health care professionals don't seem to get it.
