I don't regularly shop at thrift stores, but I have in the past. The idea is that you can find unique things. It's also kind of fun because it's sort of a treasure hunt. Same sort of idea as going to antique stores. The "icky" factor doesn't bother me. Everything can be washed, and as far as I'm concerned it's an irrational fear.

I do it all the time. Been shopping resale for over 30 years. There is a thing called a washing machine and a place called a dry cleaners. I'm all about the $$$ saved. I've bought brand name clothes, shoes and purses at a major fraction of the price. Example Liz Claiborne clothes $2-$5, Cole Haan shoes (not worn by prior owner) $4.00. And so many more examples. My first buy that hooked me was a ball gown, $9.00, alterations $25. There is no freaking way I'm going to pay hundreds of dollars for something I will wear once. That's just stupid!!!

So I can make money on my old clothes? Seriously. I am aware there are thrift stores, but I never been in one and I didn't know they were so popular, but I can make money instead of giving them away to poor people?
