Anyone else find emotions are multiplied during the night?

I can wake up in the middle of the night and start thinking about what's going on in life and feel much higher emotions, whether it's anger, sadness, happiness...
At this point I make plans based on these emotions, then fall back asleep.
After waking up in the morning, all of a sudden everything doesn't seem as emotional as it did during the night, and the plans I made just a few hours earlier seem a little drastic.
Anyone else experience this or know why this happens?

All the time.
At this point in life though I’ve learned that’s how it is and so I just say to myself “it’s night time, you’re emotionally exaggerating, go back to sleep.”
And when I wake up in the morning, sure enough, no big deal.

That's what I've done for a while, but I've been wondering if my decisions during the night really need to be made... like are we in such a meditative state during the night that we can make better decisions because everything else in life isn't clouding our minds at the moment, or is it really just being overly emotional?
About to make some big life decisions and I'm torn about which state of mind to follow

No, my mood stays constant all day. I am a male and I was born insensitive.
But I do get hangry when I don't get my food in time. That's the only time my mood changes.

That's stress. Try exercising or go for a walk in the evening. YOu'll sleep better.

I'm one of the most emotionally void people, which is why when this happens it's confusing.

I get it too. Early morning is the worst time. Barely awake I lay there and think about all the shite that is wrong with my life. After I get up and start the day I look back and think how over exaggerated I was perceiving those problems. Like another poster I've learned to just tell myself its sleepy time and worrying can wait until the day. This obviously doesn't always cure it but it does help.

Like someone else said, you’ve just got to remind yourself that this happens. It’s like a cruel trick your brain plays on you... Overreact at the exact time that you can’t do anything to change/fix what’s stressing you out.

This acts like a rebeloke

It’s why people always want to “sleep on it” before making a big decision. Your nerves are fried and you are in sensory over load from the day.
Try yoga before bed. It’ll help you calm yourself before trying to rest. I haven’t woken up in the night in over a month.

I listen to the dulcet tones of Freddie Coleman on ESPN. He relaxes me. But seriously the mornings are the worst for me I feel at peace and relaxed when I go to bed. Fingers crossed because that could change

Being tired is what causes it. Emotion regulation is less optimal when you’re tired. Your prefrontal cortex isn’t down regulating your limbic system as well when you’re tired, more specifically.

So being tired before you go to sleep is not a good thing?

You stress at night because your mind is less active, during the day there is so much going on that you are able to mask stress better. It's all about balances of neurotransmitters and shite like that

Is this like one of those posts where someone suggests checking your flux capacitor?

Totally agree! Seems that the initial rest you get makes you daring and when you wake up again all that is gone.
I remember in High school id wake up in the middle of the night thinking i would go talk to such and such girl only to wake up again in the morning changing my mind. Ah the days when these were your only issues

Prefrontal cortex (responsible for executive function (working memory, task switching, inhibition) and important for emotion regulation (particularly in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex)) becomes less able to do its job when you are tired.
