I think I am very sensible but I have something within me that keeps me from having fun and making the best of situations to an extreme. Is it cowardice? I hope not. But when I see opportunities, all i see is the potential for disaster keeping me from acting. I feel absolutely completely paranod to the point where I can't act

I don't know what the answer is brother, but I can tell you that Jesus Christ has worked wonders in my life personally. Maybe you should ask him.

You feel like this toward everything or something in particular? Just socially shy?

I don't know what the answer is brother, but I can tell you that L. Ron Hubbard has worked wonders in my life personally. Maybe you should ask him.

Just Nike it! I want to keep my financial principles while having fun.

Smoke a blunt. You'll figure it out.

Life is short. Just go with it.

Try not to give a frick. I'm always thinking about consequences to actions that I shouldn't be. I know exactly what you're talking about.

I can't! I am starchily anti weed and anti drugs! I am no fun. And wound up tighter than the Goridann knot.

Brother, words can't express how true that is once you open yourself to it.

I'm pretty much the complete opposite. It's caused me all kinds of trouble over the years.

Never let possible reasons something might not work paralyze you into not starting at all.
You'll get a helluva lot further in life going for what you want than protecting what your have.

I'm pretty good to go about 95% of the time but in that other 5% I get aware, over aware, of everything that isn't right in my life and am not mentally well. I can usually ride it out and it passes by making efforts to focus on the good things, pray and yes, enjoy some drinks.

I pray but I kinda feel
Such personal desires are beneath Him

Right here is your problem. Stop being a no man. And step up and become a yes man. Experience new things. Smoke a blunt. Take a hit of acid. Go on a trip out of state/country.
I'm a massive self-defeatist. One day you gotta just look in the mirror and say ya know what? frick it. Only you can turn your life and conscious around. No one can change you for you.
Seriously. What's something you've never done that you can get up and do tomorrow? Go do it. It can be as easy as "I've never gone to xyz city" or "I've never been to xyz national park.
Just get up and do something new. A change of scenery and forcing yourself out of your comfort zone is paramount

I've always generally subscribed to Aristotle's Doctrine of the Mean philosophy. Though I've noticed in contemporary times eccentricity is often a ticket to success (see our current president as an example). That being said, I don't have any idea where I'm going with this...

Just sound indecisive is all.
Weigh the pros and cons of each decision, then act. You'll at least be able to rationally tell yourself that you acted with the best information at hand.

Yup sounds like me. Intense OCD in many aspects, including intrusive and obsessive thoughts has contributed.
I still obsess about awkward actions I made at LSU and avoid rejection or failure at the expense of potential opportunities.
