Don't do it. Find something else, anything else.

I was going to explain it to him, but he sounds like he probably couldn't understand it anyway. Sometimes you just have to let them continue to be ignorant.

Per federal law, trains get an incredible amount of right of way and can basically do whatever the hell they want.

Look... I understand trains move goods across the country and are necessary for commerce.

They are basically unregulated, because the federal regulations are so pathetic.

There are a lot of things that could be done to make them easier to deal with... but why should the railroads make life harder for themselves if no one is going to force them to do it.

Supposedly there is a train blocking access across multiple roads from getting to Tiger Stadium.

Right, the railroads hate their own employees. You think they will go out of their way to help the public? Not a chance.

We do that to piss off the morons that buy cheap houses next to the tracks.

I've had clowns screaming at me from their backyard while we tied down a train to leave it for hours/days. I just waved to them which pissed them off more.

That excuse failed. Try another.

You know who doesn't live next to train tracks? Rich people.

1) You were stupid enough to buy next to train tracks
2) It is federal law that trains blow horns when crossing grades
3) You are a giant bitch and it pleases me that your poor life choices have resulted in your current lot in life.

My great-grandfather worked for Union Pacific before World War I. I even have the old gas lamp he used then stamped with the UP logo.

I would pass on your complaints to him, but he’s been dead since 1958. Sorry, baw.

Why the hell do some of your trains decide to take a break at midnight outside

where else we gonna stop? inside? could be waiting on a ride and switching crews because we ran out of hours to work.. we can't move after 12 hours.

20 feet from the crossing you blast your god damn horn as if you may run over a possum in the middle of the night.

it's the law that we must blow for crossings..2 long horns, 1 short, and a long through the whole crossing.

any other questions?

hahahaha, how about you walk back a mile and a half on rocks slanted that isn't good walking condition around 2 in the morning, ride the shove back away from the community then walk back up a mile and a half to get back on the head end.

when these frickers come and sit down AT NIGHT

trains run at all times.. don't like it sell your house and move? guarantee the tracks was there before your house/trailer!

While the pay and benefits are good, it isn't worth the bs that you will have to put up throughout your career.

you said Union Pacific, we're not in baton rouge.. just because the lead engine is a certain engine doesn't mean that's the railroad running through your community! you need to find out who owns the tracks and then complain to them! also could be a hold out point or siding before actually blocking crossings. get some better windows and insulation or move is all i can recommend because the railroad isn't going anywhere.

A friend’s grandmother once sued the railroad company that was in the vicinity of her neighborhood and home for damage to property and probably a few other things I don’t really remember. She won the case and they paid quite dearly from what I understand. So I don’t see why people seem to think the rail industry is this end all be all entity. They are quite fallible.

Train is back now.

As for here first remarks.

You do know that is ridiculous on all levels.

Everyone has fricking neighbors. Everyone just about. I don't live on my neighbors property and neither do they. I live on my own. I don't go outside shooting my god damn shotgun at night twice a week because eventually my neighbors will put in a noise complaint, and rightfully so.

Neighbors are meant to be neighbors. So frick that lousy ridiculous trollistic excuse.

As for they can do what they can do? Not for long i hear as a grandmother is suing the railroad for blocking the god damn track back in June from her and an ambulance teaching her grandson who was in a bad wreck.

The frickers wouldn't move.

So the police jurors we know are making a point to address this shite.

If this shite happens again after addressing this issue someone is getting an arse whipping.

I live on an 11 acre lake and 39 acres of property. I own it. Poor excuse is thrown out. It doesn't matter your class.

It is just plain indecency and being a bitch. But shite is going to change soon or I can help them and some others.

If you ride trains for a living this is mostly true. I rode them for my first 32 years and basically had no life outside the railroad. Missed more events away from the railroad than I made. My last 10 years were on a five day a week daylight switch engine. I got to do more away from work those last ten years than I did in all the previous 32 years put together. Also caused my divorce after 14 years just because "we" never did enough because all I did was work or be available for work.

Some people might not realize if you're not at work you're not getting paid. The job my present wife had before retiring, she could miss numerous days at work and still be paid for them.

what you gonna do?

come mess with a train carrying some inhalation chemical and it hit the ground and cause a leak and kill everyone in a 25 mile radius?

better think about that beforehand!

also before you take it out on the crews you need to know it's the dispatcher that gives us that signal or tells us to hold off for the next place and that crossing is the only place to hold off because of the size of the train.

good luck to you in the future and hope you can get something resolved without some kind of retaliation! we're just doing our job!
