Coming from Florida tomorrow. Should I consider going through NOLA?
Posted on 3/12/16 at 6:57 pm to juice4lsu
I would. I'd stay away from 12 if possible.

What a nightmare. It's terrible to think that even if you HAD to there's no way to get through all that

Take hwy 190 where areas are closed. Unless that is closed too.

I-12 westbound is down to one lane near Robert.

Congestion remains on I-12 West past LA 445 (Robert) due to flooding in the area. Expect 10 mile delays.

I'll never understand why one lane = gridlock. How hard is it to merge over and go straight?
Posted on 3/12/16 at 10:42 pm to biglego
You have more cars approaching the back end of the traffic at 70mph than exiting the front end, single lane, at roughly 10-15mph. shite builds up quickly

I HAVE to travel from Mandeville to Alexandria tomorrow morning at 8am. What are the chances I can go interstate? Seriously it's my nephews 1st bday so I can't get out of it.

It just pisses me off that grown adults can't simply quickly merge and then accelerate to a reasonable speed single file.

I mean from reading this thread the I-12 doesn't sound too promising does it?
Posted on 3/12/16 at 10:47 pm to LSUGlory16
Leave a little early and try to beat the traffic

Cross the Causeway and then take I-10 to BR just to be on the safe side.
