Stacked washer dryer in pool house crapped out.
A new stacked would be $1200 but an all in one with larger capacity would be $1600 or so.
Thank you friends.

I’ve used them overseas, they take like 5 hours to do a load of laundry. Don’t know if it’s the green bullshite over there and it wouldn’t in the US or not

I'd get a new side by side set. Those combos suck.

I always thought it would be cool if someone had a pool in their pool house

No space. Just a closet for it
And not enough space for full size stacked

Same experience for me. I ended up having to hang shite on a clothesline in the room, and it was still soaked after hours. Single function = simple = less breakable.

I've seen and used them. I utilized all makes and models of washer dryers. We probably own 150+ sets, including larger commercial units for bedding. Towels etc
The combos you speak of would be great in a setting like yours where you'll just put probably a bunch of towels in it and leave. The total cycle takes longer than a side by side wash/dry, but that doesn't seem to be a problem for you.
Go for it and pay for the extended warranty. On today's machines, the hardware parts don't usually fail, it's the electronic side of things.

I don't own one but I'm familar with them.
Two main types. The older style uses a low wattage heater. They don't work that great and take about 2-3 hours a cycle. The newer ones use a compressor to draw moisture from clothes rather than cook them. They work very well and take about 1 hour to do a full cycle.
The drawback is they are very very expensive to repair.
