You must have some fast growing hair. Every other week? Damn. I usually go 6 weeks between cuts.

My Section Chief is super strict when it comes to hair anywhere near the ears. I pretty much have to go every other week.

And I hear you guys about the salon/barber shop pricing thing, but everything in Alaska is expensive. For the same haircut back at home I used to pay less than $20 including a $5 tip.

I'll trim around my ears, sideburns, and the back of my neck between haircuts but that's about it.

I go to the corner barber for an uptown fade every now and again, other than that I just maintain myself.

I have thick hair and use and 8 guard on top and gradually fade it a little on the sides to about a 4 guard. It doesn't look "shaved/buzzed" , can still part it over slightly. Do it monthly.

Yes it is. He's a military guy who doesn't want to get a haircut on base/post.

Anyway, I bought a pair of Wahl Designers off Ebay. They are the lowest grade professional clipper, but they are better than the consumer versions from Walmart. I've been cutting my own hair for close to 20 years.

Should add I've been doing this about 8 years now so $20 x 12 months x 8 years = $1920 spent on blow and hookers rather than haircuts.

My mom tried to save money by cutting out hair. I was the youngest so naturally I was the guinea pig. When she got done, I looked like I had the mange with all of the shaved spots on my head. Never again.I spend 15 bucks a month and get it cut at some place by my house.

Cut my own hair, taper and all. Got my clippers from salon product store. marginally better than the previous clippers I got at walmart. make sure you use oil before each cutting.

Reason I cut mine is because always have to tell barber at least 5x to cut more. They don't cut. They just go for minor trim. And it's hard to tell how little they cut when you sit 5 ft from the big mirror and all they hand you is that little mirror and room is half dark.
