Tell us more about how the known universe came to be. Starting with how matter came into existence at all.

I'm certainly not to be confused with being a creationist but the pretension of those who likewise can't answer these unknowable questions never ceases to amaze me.

Can anyone point to the book, chapter, and verse in the Bible where it claims the Earth is 6,000 years old? Or even where it says anything about the age of the earth??

TIA

Sorry, but THAT's stupid. Without a creator, nothing will ever be something. The world learned that spontaneous generation can NEVER exist without a creator back in the bubonic plague days.

So much scientific data and evidence. Sir, you convinced me. God will be pleased.

Time is perceived differently by supremely intelligent beings...so the 7 day creation theory likely took millions of years...AKA 7 days to man.... not difficult philosophy folks

Dude, you suck at math, that equals 7 thousands years, not a billion or whatever. Subtract one for his day off and boom, the earth is 6,000 years old.

A complete disregard for the scientific method and how these things are actually figured out.

Your ignorance of basic philosophy is almost as appalling as your confidence that you are right. Things are so much more complicated and nebulous than you have ever considered. These are literally logical concepts that occurred to me when I was 5 or 6, and they still have not occurred to you. The world is constantly proving to me what a strange place it is.

Eta: There is a reason that this has remained a hotly debated topic for millenia. You are not smarter than all the countless intellectuals who have spent their lives thinking about this. It really isn't that simple.

Do you ever wonder what God did on his day off besides rest?

Did he jerk it a few times? Did he binge watch Orange is the New Black? Did he play a round of golf and maybe hit up Hooters?

lol.. you say that as if there was one that said it began on a certain date, time, and second that you would actually believe it.

Man said God created the earth in a week. God didn't say this himself.

So I ask, who is man to think they are so much smarter than God that evolution wasn't God's technique for creation? Pretty arrogant.

Are you saying that no one believes this and claims this? Because both of us know that is lie. And you are defending them in this thread right now by arguing with the OP. Because you know, he is directly addressing them.

It would explain a lot, really.

And he's obviously quite the a-hole, too; evidence: mosquitoes.

That's not what I'm saying at all. I know there are lots of people who believe it. I just want to know where in the Bible it makes this claim.
