As a hobby, I sell things on eBay. Shoes are definitely NOT in my wheelhouse though.
My mom called me today and said she found an old pair of Nike shoes, still “new” in the box that belonged to my dad, and she thought I might want to sell them on eBay. I didn’t think too much about it, but when I went over later and she gave them to me, they are Nike Air Delta Force from the late 80’s. Tags are still on them in the original box. Never been laced up.
This is hilarious to me, because while my dad was the best dad I could have asked for, he didn’t care anything about looking cool and he certainly didn’t care about shoes. My guess is that he bought them to play church league basketball, and just never used them.
I couldn’t find any sold comps on eBay that hadn’t been worn. A well worn pair sold for $800. Any ideas on what I should ask for mine in absolutely mint condition other than some yellowed glue where the sole meets the upper? The box does have some wear and tear.

They may look in mint condition but take one step and those soles will crumble. Mint condition would mean more or less like they were bought brand new yesterday....not sitting in storage for 40 years.
Even if you had those stored in a perfectly climate controlled environment those soles will still crumble.
Best you could probably do is sell them as a collectors item. They'd definitely need to be re-glued if they're remotely wearable.
Do you have a picture?

I have a picture, but I don’t know how to post it on here. And they have been stored in the house all this time.

Nothing worse than pulling an old pair of shoes out of the back of your closet that got almost no wear and then sat in your closet. Putting them on and taking 5 steps for the midsoles to just disintegrate. Had it happen to a nice pair of hiking boots I found in the back of my closet last year. It hurt my sole to toss $250 boots that never got used.
PU does not like to sit.

What size are they? Chatgpt says they could sell for around $500 if they are a common size, 9-11
