All Siz Sigma black belts I've worked with never made a decision. This was all about getting an attaboy in their personnel file.

I don't remember except they spent time at work to work on the progressive belts. Big applause at meetings for their accomplishment when achieving black belt status but basically they did nothing productive. This was Dow Chemical about 24 years ago. One of them got caught stealing red handed but everyone knew he was for several years before. I had to go around them, directly to process unit leaders, to get anything accomplished.

Lean six-sigma folks are typically unbearable. By the time we get to the "norm" phase of a project, I gtfo there pretty quickly.

My daughter's company pushed her to do it. She flew through it, getting her black belt in aboot a year. Corporate swooped down and took her in. It has been a yuge difference maker for her. Corporate did not take her just because of the BB. She dreamed up, implemented, then ran, a yuge project that profited the company millions per year, in perpetuity.
