No matter the circumstances I feel so bad for all of you that never knew your Dad. Mine died two years ago at the age of 89 and I'm still not over it. He was absolutely the best father anyone could have hoped for. Miss him every day. I'm a father of two beautiful daughters and if I am one tenth of what my father was to me I would feel I have accomplished so much.

To those didn't know their father be the best one that you can be to your kids.
Happy Fathers day to all and I miss you and love you dad everyday.

This thread is depressing. I'll add-

My father wanted nothing to do with me until his 4th marriage ended. He had no where to turn and I excepted him (no one else would put up with his shite anymore). He realized his faults for not being there for me for, the first 35 years of my life. Turns out he was loaded and gave it all to me. I in return, distributed it to all of his family.

Happy Father's Day, frickers.

I thought it was decent for having to close one eye and type. I'll try harder, next time.

I won't edit, for entertainment purposes.

I didn't know my dad very well for the first 25 years of my life. My mother kept us away from him, because she was a vindictive....I mean IS a vindictive person.

Anywho, I got to know him again and he's everything I could ever want in a dad. Father's Day is now one of my favorite days of the year...has been since '99.

For shits and giggles, here he is "wrestling" against Razor Ramon back in the day; LINK

You dad was pretty big dude himself. Glad everything came around full circle for you. I feel pretty soon I will try and reconnect with my father again I have seen him like 3 times in 20 years.

Darth-

what did you do when your grandmother passed?

Bounced abound until I graduated HS and joined the army. When she died, me and my brother didn't have any close family left on our mother's side. And we didn't know any of the people on our father's side because our grandmother had kept us apart from them. They were basically trash for the most part.

But after she died, they came to claim us to "keep us out of a boys home or foster care". Mainly though, they wanted the social security checks we got as orphans and the inheritance our grandmother left us. We'd stay with this one for a while, then that one. Along the way I went to live with one uncle while my brother went to another. I bounced from Alabama, Alaska, Florida, Georgia, and back to Alabama. At one point I even ended up living on the streets for a time.

But through it all I still managed to stay I school, despite virtually zero adult supervision and changing schools like six time between 9th and 12th grade. After that I joined the army and made a life for myself.

I turned 45 last month. I've got a great career, great wife and two awesome kids. I guess you could say even though it's been rough at times, life has worked out for me and I'm very lucky and very blessed. I know there's a lot of people out there who've gone through a lot more than I ever have.

Give it a shot. My dad and I became best friends after 35 years. Good luck.

Yeah, he was friggin jacked and strong as a bull into his 50s.

I'm sure every situation is different when it comes to reuniting w/ family, but for me, it changed my life for the better in a hurry.

Good luck.

My dad was a good dad up until the economy tanked in Louisiana during the 80's. He moved to California when I was 12 and left my mom and two brothers. He sent money when he could and rarely saw him after that. I just lost the connection with him especially after he divorced my mom and detached to his real family and took up with his new wife and her family. I as a father would never ever do that to my 3 kids no matter any circumstances.

I just hope and pray that my ex doesn't try to turn my kids against me or my parents.

Well not anymore (long story not gonna repeat on here).

Bulldog you just have to have a heart to heart with your kids. Just you and them. Tell them that anything said my your ex that throws you under the bus has to be cleared by you. I keep an open line of communication with all 3 of my kids they know if their mom says anything bad about me that they can call me to verify what she said. I have a great relationship with all 3 of my kids because of my open line of communication.
