If so, what kind of city is it. Seems like a nice, clean, modern city?

I lived there for three years, many years ago. Beautiful city and some of the nicest people I've ever known. The countryside of western PA always fascinated a flatlander like me.

Lived there for almost three years about 7 years ago. Loved it there, cold arse winters though, especially when you are accustomed to Louisiana winters.

Don't know about Pittsburgh, but my friend Michael lived in Scranton. Worked for a paper company up there. Seemed to like it well enough. Met a girl, though, and wound up moving.

I've lived 60 mi east of Pgh for the last 16 yrs. It's decent, the winter's can beat you down, but the summer's make up for it. It takes awhile to get used to everything being compact and not wide open like the south and no beer in the convenience/grocery stores sucks.

What? Do you have to buy it at a liquor store?

Pittsburgh can be great, but like others have said you are getting midwestern-esque winters. The SO is applying to pharmacy school at Pitt actually.

I currently live in Pittsburgh, first came here back in 2010. The winters are hit and miss, last year was brutal, but so far this year has been pretty mild. I actually like having 4 seasons, and the falls up here are awesome.

Pitt is a fun city, tons of stuff to do year round, there is a good upscale dining scene, however local food is pretty blah outside of chicken wings and pub far.

It is modern in some ways, and relatively clean, however much of the housing and buildings are 50-100 years old giving the city a dated look to people who prefer new cookie cutter developments.(ie River Ranch, Perkins Row, ect).

I'm pretty well traveled and have never seen another city with a landscape quite like Pitt. Lots of big, steep hills, trees, bridges and tunnels. It's pretty

Dated a girl from Pitt for a couple of years. Very nice people there. City is very clean but gives off a late 80s early 90s vibe.
