I’ve seen it plenty of times. If a bankruptcy was 8 years ago and his pay history since then has been perfect, the bankruptcy isn’t going to carry as much weight in the scoring as the more recent stuff.

It's 8 yrs old. If you do right by all other metrics of 'good credit', it'll get back over 700.
During the 8 yrs, I paid off student loans, did some debt consolidation through credit union(that shite looks good on credick), and managed debt carefully. The other key is there's not another derogatory mark nor a single late payment on my credit history.
