Plumbing for dummies. Tbird, ok I am renting this town home and usually DIY whatever I can because frankly I don't care for my landlord and would rather him not come over. That being said, I don't want to frick anything up that I would be liable for. Is this woth telling him to send someone out or roll up my sleeves and do it?

I'd go DIY on this one, and I'm not much for DIY, in all honesty. You'd probably avoid a headache thataway, though, as this shouldn't be too complicated of a fix.
Take a couple of pictures and ask 'em to give you a quick tutorial at the hardware store (or try to find a YouTube video to walk you through it).
