Miura makes some cavity back options as well.

Oh, I know. But I know my game is not deserving to have a beautiful set of Mirua's in my bag.

NO. never played them, never seen them in person but 5k for a 14 club set is trash.
If you got all of the clubs of your dreams (driver, fairway woods, set of irons, wedges, putter) either varying lines or a single line. you will have exactly what you want and spend 5k or less.
i.e.
Driver - 600
3 wood- 400
hybrid/5wood/2i- 250
irons- 3k
wedges- 400
putter- 400
those exorbitant prices equal $5050. That's with you absolutely tricking your bag out with the most exotic irons, and 1/1 scotty putter, and scratch wedges and etc etc. i don;t think PXG realizes that the average golfer doesn't have 14 golf clubs the same brand.
And why would he do that if it would cost him 5k. A PXG putter? really lol... no thanks.
So for an 8 club iron set they charge 2700. But somehow they create a 14 club set for 5k. Now look at my numbers with a 3k iron set and tell me if you think their prices are worth it

Have you ever been fitted by a professional club builder and had a set made?

You think these are an upgrade over KZG?
Yes, with the technology they implement. Also hard to go wrong with Taylormade.

What did you like more about them?
They're newer and I got them for a pretty good price ($330 for 4-AW). I haven't tried them yet, taking them out to the range this weekend. A big part of the reason I was ready for a new set was that I had lost or accidentally broken 3 of the irons from my previous KZG set. Not sure if they will make a huge difference in my game but I doubt they will hurt.

I haven't hit them, but I'm 110% confident NO is the answer, but I'm OT poor

Didn't see this. had a meeting at work.
Yes, I was fitted for KZG custom build. I would only recommend custom set if:
1) you are not looking to make any swing changes or
2) change your fundamentals
The great thing about off the rack clubs for non-professionals is that as you improve or get better fundamentally, the club is already standard fitting.
When i had my KZG set built, I was still routinely seeing an instructor and working to change my swing path.
If you have swing flaws that show during your custom fitting session, the builder's job is to create a set of clubs that will give the swing you currently have the best chance for success. So if you are consistently way out on heel or toe, the builder may recommend/build a set that are severely upright/flat.
As you get better and don't need the upright/flat clubs, This is easy to fix as you can bend the clubs (if they are forged) a good amount one way or another. Also, a better swing (less wasted energy from point A to point B on the transition, could increase your swing speed, ball speed, and ultimately the type of shaft you should be in.
So long story short, if you are not a person who wants to change your swing and just wants to have the best chance of success with your current swing then I would recommend custom build.
But custom build only makes sense IMO for someone who is a professional or has severe swing flaws or measurables (really tall or really short).
You can have your clubs bent upright/flat, change the loft, change the length, change the weight, spine align, and pure your clubs....all without getting "a set made from the ground up."
but yes I do go to professional club builders to do these tasks to my clubs when necessary.

Find a used set of MacGregor vip 1025m or 1025cm irons and play them. If you dont like them or play well with them, dont waste your money on the Miuras.
