If you not a pure ball striker, you will learn to be or you will quit golf.

Miura does the forgings for individual sets of the leading brand names from time to time. You're paying for the softness of their forging. I would find a Miura forged club that wasn't actually Miura branded to save some dough.

Fourteen golf makes great clubs and they are japanese forged as well.

Miura did the forging on the old Taylormade 300 blades. I have a set of Nike split cavity prototypes I bought on ebay in like 2010. They were tour issue and Miura forged.

Go to ebay and just buy the Miura forged heads (whether branded or not) and then let someone you trust locally build the set with your preferred specs and shaft recommendations.

Ebay searches that are great: " prototype" "tour issue" "miura forged"

But I do agree with the other poster that 14 golf is extremely underrated. I like Yonex as well for drivers and fw

This is the biggest misconception about Miura. yes their blades are beautiful but the design of the blade itself is standard. The forging done by Miura is why the price is premium.

Not all Miura are straight blades. There's a such thing as a cavity back, Miura. For people who want the softness of Miura forging with some aspect of forgiveness. Similar to most decent golfers who play a progressive set or a minimal/split cavity set.

There is a reason a ton of pros are switching to a more forgiving blade.

No doubt, the pic I posted is a cavity back-blade hybrid, which is what I am interested in.

No way in hell am I ready for this:

I have actually hit these at a demo day and they were ridiculous.

I've never seen anyone actually play them though.

what about KZG if I'm not willing to spend the money yet on Miura?

Everything I've read has said these are great as well.

They are good. I played a cavity back version of KZG my freshman year of college. And then I played KZG ZO (zero offset) as well as the KZG MB muscle back version later.

Not sure where you are located but down at Rob Noel Golf Academy in Abita Springs, La. there was a guy named Buzzy Brown who used to do fittings for KZG and was an authorized builder who could fit you up really nicely. I don't think he's there anymore but they the Academy is still a KZG dealer.

KZG are good if you're not ready to drop the cash on Miura. Hell, I don't blame you. And KZG is solid.

what kind of shafts do you have in them?

KBS Tour 90s, but the heads are not Miura. If I were going to get something like that, it would be from Fourteen Golf.

I'm gonna go to Chauvin Golf in Lafayette, he's a professional club fitter and builder and builds everything himself.

I agree. I've been playing with KZG OCII irons for the past 6 years, they've been great but I decided it was time for an upgrade and bought a set of Taylormade Speedblade irons. Haven't hit them yet but everything I've read about them sounds promising for a mid-to-high handicapper like me.

I've hit them a couple times. They're incredible.

Won't buy a set. My AP2's serve me plenty fine.

You think these are an upgrade over KZG?

What did you like more about them?

Are you a scratch golfer or just a club ho that wants to post on Golfwrx.com the pic of your bag? That stick is for players.

When you hit the center they all pretty much feel the same, the difference in $ is not worth it IMO, take a step up and get custom fit for some PXG if you are looking to buy a game/status and have $ to piss away......

Exact opposite.

I'm looking to get fitted completely for a set and be done with buying clubs for a long time.

I'm not at all going full blade here, If I get Miura's it will have some forgiveness/help built in. The pic I posted in OP is a cavity back/blade hybrid he offers.

I would never go full blade right now.

Are PXG's really worth the money?
