Lots of plans for near future improvement. Good time to join. We need more in this age range to help push the club to develop the areas that benefit others than just "old timers".
Enjoy that assessment, because it's going to be a whopper. Many of these new members that are being lured in with cheap initiation fees won't be around for long because they won't be able to afford it.

12k for new members, and like 7-9k if you were already a tennis member. The monthly fees were less also. Normally a golf member pays about 600/month
I was a member at CCL for about 8-9 years starting in 2003. Stock purchase was 12K and I routinely spent 750-850 per month in dues and clubhouse.
I got bored with it (really didn't care for a lot of the members) and then Tommy Mansur started cutting the long term staff so I decided to quit.
What they sell as an equity membership, really is not. If you try to sell your stock, you're hit with a transfer fee that is equal to the regular cost of stock (IIRC 30K) minus what you paid when you joined. Effectively you can't sell your stock because you are competing with the clubs deals at the moment. You can't even give it away since you are hit with the same transfer fee.
Nice facilities and course though.

Maybe you're thinking of Greg the GoAuto guy who proudly wears his CCLA shirt in all of his annoying commercials.

Like others have said CCL has a membership initiative going till the end of December. There are different initiation fees depending on age (35 and younger, 36-40, 40 & up)
CCL has added ~50 new junior golf members with the initiative

Buddy of mine who is 27 just joined and he says he's about the youngest guy out there... but he said there are members in their mid-30's or so..

Yes. The junior member deal at CCLA is $10k initiation payable over 3 years along with $280/month membership fee.
ETA: Like I said he is 27 so I guess this would be the under 35 deal

below 41 is around 10 grand for a golf membership.
36-40 initiation fee is $12,500, once you pay that you are in. You don't have to pay the difference once you turn 41
This age group is typically $20K initiation

We have a group of 6 of us that all joined in June, age group 29-32. We typically play almost every Friday morning

$250/month
It's $280/month but they give you $50/month credit for 2 years. $50/month food minimum (does not include alcohol)
$18/round cart fee, $20/month range fee

I don't hit range balls, mainly because I hate practicing. Can they drop the range fee if I join?

Quick hijack since so many golfers in here...
Has anyone hit the new Snell ball? Snell is the guy who created or helped create the ProV1 and ProV1x along with a bunch of others at Titleist and Taylormade. Now he's got his own company and selling 12 for $31 and people are raving about them. Soft, but low spin. Best of both worlds apparently.

Too much IMO. They should lower initiation fee to $12,500 and raise the monthly and minimum food/beverage cost.

No they shouldn't, then any poor can get in, they aren't hurting for $, they ran a deal to get younger members, not poor folks.
