Ok I admit I am lazy and was hoping someone would look it up and post it, well done sir.
Lets just say I doubt I will ever be a serious candidate for the FBI.

I'm retired from a Federal LEO agency. All agents train basically the same. You attend an academy at the Federal Law Enfircement Training Center FLETC and FBI agents go through Quantuco. It's a challenging experience to say the least.
You'll never get rich and you'll work your arse off. It's a great and rewarding career that few are capable of doing.
Good luck if you decide to go that route.

I hope you are Middle Eastern and speak Farsi, otherwise not likely going to happen.

I'm starting to look around at other careers, and a forensic accountant for the CIA/FBI intrigues me.
I looked into the FBI after 9-11.
They had computer programming jobs I could have done, grade 12, which was similar pay range to my DCS-23 in USPS. 12 goes up a bit higher but I was at a higher pay than the start of 12, and besides, I wanted to do my bit, after 9-11.
I had by then sworn the oath a few times including bizarre active duty military, and FBI would be just fine.
So... I get on their website and the 12 is sitting there, well within my career experience skill sets I could demo on the application, just like they want.
But NO!! they wanted you to take the FIELD AGENT training first.
remember the movie with Sean Connery as an FBI agent? at one point he brings along the accountant due to being short handed. it became a damn tradition that they all have to be field agents as well as whatever they do days.
I was older than their maximum for the field agent. this is an example of how terrible FBI is. they are missing out on fat Jewish geeks who can program rings around their tough guys. After that, I read that the replacement database system Congress made them get after they missed on some opportunities to snag some of the 9-11 doers, they did not accept the new system as delivered by the contractors. $25 million down the rat hole. This is because those dunces at FBI did not pick me. I could have seen to it that the old farts' understandings and needs were brought to heel by computer land contractors while bringing to their fingertips every kind of knowledge possible. But no! they have to have field agents.
Damn it. they paid $25 million for the replacement system, and it was all down the drain, except the guys who got to write it made some real money.
end of rant. sorry.

I think they changed the policy fairly recently. From what I remember it used to be that you couldn't have smoked pot more than like ten times ever, and you couldn't have used any other drugs more than a handful of times if at all.
The CIA is not nearly as strict about past drug use.

They do polygraphs, I'm sure it would come up.
As an aside, Nobody on the PT board could pass the poly because of the government overthrow questions...lol

Leaving big 4 next week!
Now that's usually a cause for celebration.

I do know that the FBI likes to hire accountants to work out of its Mobile office.

I'm considering getting my CFE to boost my resume.
A few years ago, the FBI started to give special consideration to Certified Fraud Examiners who apply for investigative (Special Agents) and technical (Analysts) positions.
The CFE is officially recognized as an FBI critical skillset, under the Diversified Special Agent hiring subprogram. As an Accountant and CFE, you will have an definite advantage in the process.

Polygraph is given for just about any law enforcement job

One of my and my husband's best friends from college went to work for the FBI as a forensic accountant. He got his undergrad from Alabama and went to Wharton for his MBA.
He had been in the New York office for a few months when 9/11 happened. He was part of the money aspect of the investigation.
He ended up meeting and marrying a 9/11 widow - her husband worked at Cantor Fitzgerald. She used her 9/11 money to start a company - one that is very successful now. He left the FBI and is now the CFO of their company.
I had just had my first baby when an agent knocked on our door as part of his background check. I'm sure he loved asking me questions with a screaming newborn in the room.
