Yeah that too.
Like with the Gene Hackman situation, these things are almost always more simple than how people want to spin them. Reality is much more boring than the artificial CT realities so many people have bought into since 2019.
Gad Saad isn't given nearly enough credit

This
At any rate, Elon was a lifelong Dem voter who claimed himself a moderate, he was a firm believer in climate change and supporter of transgender rights, he wished to remain out of politics and thought Donald Trump lacked character and now he invested 277 Million into his presidency, he was a free speech absolutist who now engages in censorship often on the media platform that he owns
But other than that, he didn’t change at all, the left just moved away from him.

What could possibly make you want to listen to that garbage?

2015 about Tesla and SpaceX: "The US government has been helpful. Without subsidies, we would not have gotten here." to years later saying "I am literally saying get rid of all subsidies."
That’s not a change in position and are not mutually exclusive. But I think it is a good point that he is ok with getting rid of subsidies, probably because Tesla is already in a good spot and does not need them as much as it once did. This position could be seen as him trying to damage the rest of the EV market (not saying that is solely the reason he said this or that it is even true) and help Tesla…there are definitely some conflict of interest / ethical concerns. But again, not necessarily a flip flop in positions.
quote:
2016 about Trump "I feel a bit stronger that he is probably not the right guy. He doesn't seem to have the sort of character that reflects well on the United States."
He’s changed his position because he’s seen 4 years of trump already. That’s not really flip flopping.
quote:
2018: "I'm not a conservative. I'm registered independent and politically moderate."
I believe he still holds this position, but the left has moved so far off that it makes it seem he’s extreme right. He’s not.
quote:
2020: Criticized social media for not moderating content and misinformation effectively. Now it's all about absolute free speech on X.
Can’t find anything on this. You have a link?

And in 2016, if I told you he’d contribute a quarter billion dollars to a Trump 2024 campaign, then you’d call me an idiot
that’s true. touché

Nobody did this, chief. You’re arguing against no one here.
quite possibly.

It is a social contagion. Since time immemorial, humans have known that men can’t get pregnant and have known what a woman is. In the last 15 minutes, huge swaths of the population, all leftists, suddenly don’t understand these things. And their children miraculously are LGBTQ at some absurdly impossibly high percentage.

Only a leftist like you believes Twitter wasn’t full of censorship before he bought it

Elon is a foreign degenerate trans humanist freak, but not a loser

Wow this thread went off the rails.
I’ve listened for about an hour so far. My hot take was that it would be terrible because AB is a moron and a bullshitter.
Changed my mind a little bit, he’s still a moron but not a complete one:
-He made some points that are valid. Nothing groundbreaking and he didn’t exactly use his words correctly (
) but said things I’d agree with.
-He is legitimately funny. I chuckled a little.
-I figured Rogan would have to carry him a lot but he didn’t really at all. That probably impressed me the most…he actually had a decently lucid conversation.
I honestly didn’t hate it. Can’t say I’d recommended it but if you don’t think about the crazy/dumb things he did while he was in the league and shortly after, you probably won’t hate it.
