I've heard there was a lot of rain but not understood how bad until early this morning. I don't live in La.

My girlfriend has a booth in the antique village and as far as I know it's a total loss.

In all fairness it hasn't really been covered in national media.

Agreed. I live in Houston and their isn't much coverage on the national news. I've learned of the impact thru family there. Otherwise I wouldn't have thought it was nearly as bad as it really is.

I was planning to stop in this coming Saturday while driving I-10.

Denham Springs is not on I10. Did you mean the Antique places in Bunkie?

Don't pay attention to the assholes on here. They'll slam you because you don't know something, then slam you for asking. They're just miserable people looking for a jolly.

I've lived in baton Rouge and worked there for years, live in mandeville now and I have to reference google maps daily just to see the effected areas people are discussing.

It was amazing to see the water on range in front of the wal- mart. If that came from the Amite than there is just a horrible amount of property loss along Florida Blvd.

My old home was on Oak Street just a few blocks from Antique Village. That home was two feet off the ground and was flooded; Antique Village is a total loss, from what I've heard.

I have not seen the pics yet, so I hope someone would post the link.

This is terrible news how wide spread all the flooding is. I guess I will not travel I-10 this week.

Too bad you can't exchange those downvotes for nickels.

When you don't live in La. and you are just driving thru the state on I-10, it's easy to forget the stretch of 12 is not 10. I meant 12 and Denham Springs.
