My sister lives in Oakland, and Antifa has a decent presence there. Before 2016, they were just your typical anarchists that loved shutting down streets and vandalizing banks and Starbucks. Now they're just flying a different flag.

Of course that's how the media have painted him since he's been putting a spotlight on their intentional lack of actual reporting on who Antifa really is. You've got people like Don Lemon claiming these people to be patriotic heroes.
The truth is that they're nothing more than the violent enforcement wing of the left which is why local leaders of major American cities allow them to operate with impunity.

If your biggest criticism of a group like Antifa is that "they're not perfect", then it's pretty clear what your stance is. He clearly views them as legitimately fighting fascism.
