That was...interesting. A LOT of people outside of Louisiana aren't going to get it. I barely get it. lol

frick right off with this shite. He had an 11 year old kid and he killed himself. Special place in Hell for anyone who could do that. I don't care worth a shite what he "was dealing with" and neither should you.

He was on the road 200 days a year during his show. He has admitted to being suicidal after his first divorce.. I think around 2005ish. He was a recovering heroin addict

Like I stated earlier, there were two different episodes, it might have been a episode in back to back seasons in which one guy was targeted and killed for making the decision to speak out on his show. There was another guy who was jailed and I think is still in jail for speaking out against the Iranian government, in one of his episodes.

Between the pressure that came with filming his show, the fact that people had their life ruined for being in an episode of his show, his history of being suicidal, there was a lot that could have just made him snap. He might have even got to the point where he justified to himself that his daughter would be better without him. You really don't know what someone is feeling and going on in their head.

Depression can hit someone anytime and when you are depressed, you are not just "upset" because something happened. It is a feeling that takes over your body.

If I had to guess, the few of you in here saying "he is a pussy. he is selfish". I am sure you are probably what? In your early 20s? Yall don't have a fricking clue about anything..

Many thoughts and emotions after watching that episode.

1) It's TV. Trust nothing you see on TV -- it's a pre-planned fantasy world where the Prime Directive is to make money, and nothing else.
2) I was blessed last summer to have a job where I spent the majority of my time wandering the same areas as AB. Lots of back-story truth in that show, and in total I think he got it.
3) Dammit Bourdain, why'd you take the wimp way out.

Carry on...

Think that depends heavily on the church really.

I've gone to church in casual clothes. Clean, put together, with no wrinkles...but still considered casual clothing(ex: casual sundress or maybe jeans and a nice top).

Again...depends a lot on the church.

Well, one of them would be me. 48, married for 26 years, 2 kids in college. Maybe you should stop guessing, or buy a clue yourself.

Enjoyed the episode!

Will miss your down to earth storytelling.

Kind of eerie the "ashes to ashes" comments.

RIP Anthony Bourdain!

nurse, I am sorry you had to deal with this. I am sure it is extremely tough on you to deal with. Especially not knowing what is really going through his mind..

Thanks Oweo

He's very anxious...and very negative at the same time. He worries about anything and everything. Yet when you try to present him with simple solutions to simple problems his response is "that won't work" or "it isn't that simple". He knows everything and we know nothing.

If he was younger and dealing with this he might be more receptive to treatment. But since he's 69 and very much set in his ways...getting him to see the importance of small things to help his mental state(therapy, exercise, diet, etc) is a huge challenge.

What did they do? I think some of you people just look for any little thing because you think everyone in the world has some political agenda.

One of the two churches I go to is a southern baptist one out in the country and while it’s relatively casual as far as jeans I don’t think you’d see shirt or a T-shirt even on a little kid. Mostly dressy casual, pants and polo or button down minimal but lots of people with blazers too.

Yeah, he was anti-putin right? Appearing on that episode didn't help his case any..
