I didn’t grow up in Ruston or Acadiana but if I had to choose, it would be Ruston without a doubt in my mind. Acadiana is a joke come on dude.

Not necessarily bitter. Just annoyed with these Acadiana people who literally think they’re above the rest of the state. They shite on BR, CenLa and North LA on the regular as if their region of the state is actually better. Come on, it’s the worst region in the state

I've never met anyone that fits this description. Some baw from Lafayette fricked your girl? It isn't just Acadiana people shitting on Cenla and North LA. It's the entire South Louisiana because lets be honest there's really no comparison between the two.

I would be upset if I had to spend a weekend in Ruston.

LA really has some beautiful things and great culture that can be shared. This is not one of them.
This. For one of the last of Bourdain's episodes its sad that, with all the good things we have, these sad over-hyped cliches was chosen to represent what the real down-home Louisiana is like. We know its not. No wonder tourism is lacking outside of New Orleans.

Agreed 100%. There’s so much they could’ve done instead of this.

Ive never heard people from other parts of South LA shite on the places I listed. Its mostly Acadiana people who do it.

Are Billy's, Don's and the Best Stop all worth checking out right there?

I mean I'll shite on BR and New Orleans but not because I think Acadiana is the greatest place ever.

wonder how many Bourdain followers will be flocking to Big Mamou next year.
I’m gonna go with none. It’s been noted several times already that he wasn’t his usual self in this episode. Why would Bourdain followers want to go to a place where Bourdain himself didn’t seem too thrilled with?

Definitely. I prefer Best Stop but they are all good.

He seemed normal to me but I have only seen a few episodes of his show so maybe I don't see it. I do agree that I didn't see anything shown that would make anyone want to go out of their way to travel to Mamou for Mardi Gras but that might be appealing to someone else.

That wasn’t his normal at all. He usually shows much more enthusiasm for where he is at....especially the food there.
He will usually be a much more willing participant in whatever local activities he is invited to do. He loved to immerse himself fully in the culture. That episode....honestly it looked like he was regretting being there....but was already there and didn’t want to be rude so just pushed through it.

My thoughts exactly nurse. He looked totally disconnected from the whole thing. There was almost a sense of relief when it was over.

I thought he was pretty normal. I think a lot of y’all are trying to see things in this episode solely because he’s dead now. Had he not died, I don’t think anyone is saying he acted different in this episode.

i disagree.. I think you are seeing the man riddled with some dark secrets that were associated with the deep state shite. I think his gf got him involved in some sick twisted shite.

Like what?
Conspiracy theories are he was killed because he wanted to expose sick twisted shite (pedophilia) but not a part of it.
