More than a week after their bodies were discovered, many questions surround the deaths of Jeffrey Reynolds and Mark Kennedy, both 44 years old. Why did they die together? How did the drugs and syringe get into their cabin? What series of events contributed to their deaths?

The night before their bodies were discovered, the men went to two bars, followed by two casinos, the New York Times reported, in Port of Victoria, Seychelles. New York Times reporter Ian Urbina told CNN's Brooke Baldwin that according to staff where the men are said to have been on that night out, Reynolds and Kennedy were "outgoing" and "having a great time" and drank tequila shots and vodka with sailors from New Zealand.

"The two (former) Navy SEALs ended up closing that (second) casino and were politely asked to go at the end of the evening," Urbina said

Surveillance images indicate that they met two women in the hall in front of the second casino and "walked down a dark corridor" with them, Urbina said.

Always the likely endgame. Much to the chagrin of the people who were screaming about an African government cover-up because no way former seals would touch heroine.

Or they OD'd. It is a shame and very sad, but we only know about it because it was on the Maersk Alabama. Had this been on any other vessel, I doubt it gets this much, if any, press.

Sounds suspicious but how'd they end up back in their quarters if they were murdered off-site?

I wonder if it's possible that they brought these 2 women back to the ship. Also, they need to find them to question them.

That's pretty easy.....IF the 2 chicks were part of a murder plan, they weren't alone.

They walked up the gangway with two dead guys and threw them in the room and walked right off the ship like nothing happened.

Sounds legit

this is a ship that's been repeatedly targeted by pirates. they can't afford a few cameras to observe who is getting on and off the ship at all times?

Sounds like two guys who had lived world-juanting, rootless, soldier-of-fortune-type lives (and spent most of their time on their current jobs cooped up in a giant container ship) went out partying in port, hooked up with some prosts, came back to the ship, capped off the night with some H they bought in port, and died because it either wasn't the potency they expected or because they just messed up due to being shwasted.

I don't understand why former SEALS should be assumed to wear halos. These guys weren't Boy Scouts and they weren't on active duty. They'd been in an extremely dangerous line of work during a decade of ceaseless war, which has serious impact on one's mental stability. Further, the conditions of their prior employement makes it hard to develop a normal family, probably ruins most marriages that began prior to it, and results in guys who are old enough to have families but don't (as Rust Chole on True Detective says - after a certain age, a guy with no family is bad news) and posses skills that are only valuable in certain, dangerous, foreign, odd sources of mercenary employment, such as guarding giant container ships and fighting African bush wars.

The chicks are a huge red flag, and the authorities already said the deaths weren't drug related.

I'm all for assuming the most likely thing had happened, but this story doesn't seem to give the reader that option. It's just bizarre from top to bottom.
