$18 during the week and $27 on weekend. That's all day rate too. You can play 36,54,..

Awesome. About to max out on vacation accrual at work, so time to burn a few days.
Now I need this rain to go away.

Haha. Well I am a bit better than that.
Range does sound like a good idea though.

You seem like you'd know if you were "course ready" since you already care about impacting others. I'd just do a range session to see where your game is at if I were you.

The state of golf in Baton Rouge is appalling for being a major metro state capital area in a Southern state. Aside from Webb, there are no decent public options (Santa Maria is outside of city limits) in BR proper. It's exasperating having to go to Copper Mill, Beaver Creek, The Bluffs or Carter Plantation.

It's becoming a problem all over. Public courses aren't generating enough revenue to keep them in good shape. Same can be said for little rock. Most of the decent kept courses are private now.

It really is ridiculous.

BR is a terrible golf city.

And its not gonna get better because there is no way in hell anyone is building a course here anytime soon.

I typically have to drive 30 minutes every Saturday to play golf at a decent course (besides Santa Maria)

Her driving range keeps flooding & retaining water. She posts about it frequently on the business Facebook page, if you're bored & want to read all-caps rants.

If BREC was smart, they would close a couple of their awful courses and focus their resources on a course on the land out by the new mall or out past oneal by the central throughway. The land there is already contoured with great elevation changes, water ways, etc. but alas, they'd rather keep throwing 100's of thousands of dollars away on keeping awful courses up.

Also the 9 hole course at pelican point is goof to learn on.

Don't bother with it on a weekend though. You'll be rushed along by two-somes and cheap arse golfers who want to play for cheap. Tried taking my son out there twice (he was trying to learn to play, 10 yrs old) and we ended up letting about 5 or 6 two-somes riding in separate carts, sporting white Costas and hitting 275+ off the tees. bullshite that they were on that course, but what can you do.
