Why don't they have some sort of emergency mechanism that allows the silo to open up and the grain to flow out onto the ground so the person could be freed?

Really?

Do you know how much grain is in a silo? He would then just be buried in a big pile of grain then.

Very good friend of mine fell into concrete vat that his dad owned. Many of you probably have heard of it. Parish Ready Mix. Horrible way to go.

think the OT could have came up with some way to save him.

Just attach a net near the top that allows grains to sift through but not humans

Seriously baws? It's a human life. I'm imagining a large panel opening up, all the grain flows out over a large surface area, and the person can escape.

Wouldnt work. It isn't
like quicksand. They must have been loading more rice into it. Many times we would get in there to level them off so they dry evenly.
Some self level.

Sounds like a waste of grain.

When I read the title I thought you were gonna say he died because he walked himself to death.....because he couldn't find a corner in the silo to take a shite.

Serious question: Is all of the grained "ruined" now? As in, do they have to dispose if it all because he died in it.
