Sailing La Vagabonde might be the best channel I've ever seen. The editing is top notch. There's over 200 episodes so it takes some time but well worth it. It doesn't hurt that the girl is a smokeshow either.

Saw thread title, opened to recommend La Vaga.
They just crossed 1,000,000 subscribers the other day, I think I started watching around 100k.
It will appeal to some people and not others.
I binged the series from the Aegean Sea days up to when they got the new boat, then tuned out for a few years. Started watching again recently after they had their baby and resumed sailing.
I get why some people hate them but to me what they have accomplished is impressive and the content they put out is more authentic and entertaining than 90% of what is on TV/Netflix.
Plus, Elayna is smoking hot and the Aussie slang is good for a laugh.
her IG account, I couldn't find a gif

Fishing with Luiza is 1000000x better.
And much, much better looking, and actually catches the big fish and reels them in.

Have watched them on YT for a long time. Met them last Friday in the Bahamas - we were tied up right by them. They are really nice people and a she’s really hot in person.

Damn. I watched the first year a few years ago. Didn't realize they were still going.
They sure improved their boat. Must be making money.

Give us a backstory on how this started and where the funds came from

The guy, Riley, was originally a baw working offshore for a drilling company in Australia. He saved up enough money for his first boat, about 75k if im remembering correctly, and purchased it in Italy without knowing how to sail.
He sailed the Mediterranean for a bit, and went to Greece where he met the girl Elayna. She was working at a resort doing open mic type singing or something at the time. He asked her to join him sailing around the world, and she did. She’s the one who first started making the YouTube videos back in the day so she could show her family what she was doing, and the channel took off.
As for the funds they’ve long had a Patreon page where subscribers pay something per video if they want, and then they get paid for their YouTube content. I’d love to know how much they are actually making each month. I bet it’s substantial.
Not too long ago they teamed up with Outremer and got their current boat. I feel like the details around that deal are still sketchy, because they try to make it sound like they are paying for it, and outremer only helped them with the loan, but I imagine at the very least they got one helluva discounted deal on a fricking awesome catamaran that goes for like $800,000. I think I remember a few years ago it was being speculated that they made around $350k/yr from Patreon alone. Add in YouTube money, and more popularity and I imagine they are killing it. It fricking sucks. I’m jealous.
