Weirdly enough, I've read this entire thread.

IMO, this video was a kid looking to rustle jimmies, and he accomplished that. I have no proble with the cops "pulling him over" (is taht what happened exactly?) to figure out why he kept circling, as that could impede their jobs. Once they saw he wasn't a threat, they should let him on his way to video whatever the hell he wants to.

As awesome as it was that the one cop screamed at that kid, it shouldn't have happened and the cop has to be smarter than that.

Props to the other cop who not only controlled his partner, but also was willing to take the kid's information if he truly did want to report an assault (which was hi rious).

Again, you cannot compare LEOs to any other profession. EVER.

It doesn't work.

The fact that they are seemingly so able to find police who act the arse on camera is a bigger issue to me than them rolling around looking for trouble.

It is an issue but I wonder how many officers behave in an appropriate manner and are not shown by this group. I bet if all of those videos were shown the OT would be astounded at how well LEO generally behave.

If you are preaching "it's legal to be a distraction or tick police off"..and you yourself have had a bad encounter with police because you were with bad company, well, that so of impairs your judgement in my humble opinion.

Clearly the cops are in agreement with me, or he would have been arrested?

So video cameras at intersections are breaking the law?

If I record my kids baseball game in the public area of a park, am I breaking the law?

If it was illegal, cops would be in violation of the law for recording traffic stops

The expectation of privacy does not exist in public areas

I think you are conveniently leaving out the fact that they are showing up with arrogance and disrespect (in this case circling ) with the intent to stir up the arse for ratings.

Who bloody cares? None of that would matter at all if the officers simply did their jobs well. Period.

that's not genuine

Yes, it is.

To what end? These are apples and assholes comparisons. Filing a store clerk that you've purposefully pissed off my make for compelling watching, but they are in no position to infringe on your rights as a citizen simply because you offended them. That's the difference. Being disrespectful, while certainly bad form, IS NOT ILLEGAL. It should be of no consequence when dealing with a person if you're entrusted with upholding the law.

It's not genuine to me, it's provoked

It's real either way. Provoked or not, the people with the most power to make sure police officers do not show up in Youtube videos breaking laws or infringing on the rights of American citizens are police officers themselves.

I agree that most are very good most of the time.... But I want to be prepared in case I run into the jerk or the normally good one having a bad day that can ruin my life or worse yet - end my life.

As scruffy keeps saying- the standard is HIGH. I expect my doctors, and officers to give as near perfect service as possibly even if they are having a bad day or think I'm being rude.

Right...and how many female teachers don;t frick their students? Probably most of them percentage wise. We tend not to make a big deal out of most people going to work and doing their jobs correctly each and every day. We'd run out of gold stars pretty quickly if everyone got one for not fricking up.

On the other hand, even though it MAY make for s small percentage, I think it's incredibly important that we always watch those in positions of power. To do otherwise, out of either laziness or simply assuming they always have your best interest at heart, is just foolish.

You're saying this as if it's ridiculous but it's 100% truth. That's the sad part of your argument.

Few if any are saying the kid was right and awesome- simply that it doesn't matter if we don't like him, you can't treat him like that as a professional.

If it was one person doing it to another person I would agree its hilarious but a cop should not be able to get 2 inches away from your face and SCREAM that you are a "chicken shite motherfricker". If you aren't scared by that you are crazy because this is someone threatening you, physically and verbally, and you aren't even allowed to defend yourself if he starts beating on you. Its absolutely assault.

Exactly. The kid is a tool, but the cop has to act like a cop is supposed to

So, why did the angry cop not arrest the punk for breaking the law? I suspect your understanding of the law regarding the recording of the cop is wrong.
