I’m pretty sure that if you have cancer or are stuck in a drought ridden country and are crazy skinny it’s still called anorexia. How you get that skinny isn’t the point. Chronically underweight is what the term means.
An eating disorder can result in a symptom defined as anorexic, and anorexia can be a symptom/result of self starvation. Most anorexics don’t deliberately starve themselves, only people with eating disorders do.
I’ve been out of the mental health field for a while now, but not long ago that is how they would explain it within the field.

she is mentally ill and should be committed to an institution until she is healthy enough an determined to be mentally competent, as in no loner thinks 110 lbs is being fat.
