The roads and bridges in our country are in bad shape the frequency of these issues will be increasing. It's a real problem for our country but folks are too worried about tax returns and travel bans to focus on real issues.

How is the fire collapsing the interstate or foam tomahawks spilling out of a truck mismanagement?

Atlanta is a shite hole run by culcha, why are you surprised?

And spending billions and billions blowing up things in other countries and then spending billions and billions to build them back, all the while our infrastructure is crumbling.

And many folks are hard resistant to increasing taxes to fund infrastructure. I do get the distrust of politicians (i.e. LA), but the money is got to come from somewhere......

I'd imagine the DOT gave permission to the trucks holding the PVC to be there. I could be wrong on that however.

On the northern half, it is not.....it far superior to BR as far as quality of life. Granted its unfair to compare a major city to a petrochem society of 500-700k residents.

I'll concede on the foam tomahawks, but storing 1000's or yards of pvc materials, scrap lumber and chemicals under a main artery of the highway system through the state which is frequently visited by the dregs of society which do not have the best judgement concerning pyrotechnics might be one of the most idiotic things that the GADOT could do.

These are the idiots. So now everything has to be idiot proof? Well blow everything up and lets start over. That's the only way that will happen

How are any of these events due to a lack of infrastructure investment?

Well when dealing with a multiple million dollar infrastructure in the heart of one of the major cities south of the Mason Dixon line, forethought might not be such a bad thing. You can't regulate out stupidity, but it is always present. Same way you don't leave toilet bowl cleaner out so that your child can get to it.
