Off to a wedding in Cornwall next month! You and Mrs. Allen should join!

Cornwall has amazing views. Look up Captain Ross Poldark next time you’re there. We’re Navy buddies.

So what are your concerns with the Platinum? For what it’s worth, I have the platinum. AMEX is great about reevaluating your credit limit.

Centurion heard you need to spend $10k a month to get invite

After the $7500 initiation fee for yourself plus another $5000 for any additional users, you have spend $250,000 a year just to keep it.

If you travel frequently, the fees usually pay for themselves if you take advantage of the Centurion Club locates in the major airports. I connect in IAH frequently and have chilled out in that lounge, got work done, enjoyed a meal, and drank the bar dry. No bill, no check. Just enjoy the perks and leave.

Just curious how you justify that $7,500 lol

There's only a 500+ page, 4 year running credit card thread on the "Money talk" board.

I recommend checking that out.

United Club not being part of it hurts

I fly to Kansas City from Newark monthly. KC is a shithole.

Flying to Japan via San Fran in October hope to rock it.

I spent that $200 airline credit like a fat kid in a candy store

I know the expectation is to troll here, but I really can’t answer that for you. My wife and I just got back from a trip to San Francisco. I really hate that place, but she loves the pacific coast and we take trips like that pretty regularly, so it’s worth it for us.

All of the time. We fly Delta exclusively.

The only way you’re going to get any real value out of that card is if you utilize the benefits.

You’re going to need more than double that per month to get it. At a minimum

Centurion card doesn’t have a set monthly limit, but rather a formula that factors spending habits and gross annual charges. It’s easy to say the 20k per month or 250k yearly, etc, but there were months where barley anything was charged and probably a few years where we were under the so called limit. They didn’t revoke the card nor were we notified that we needed to increase our use.

Full disclosure, it was a business card and I paid the fee for a few years strictly to flaunt it. I was young and dumb and had no family responsibility so why the hell not. Now I’m smart (at least I think so) and I stick with the platinum.
