Alsa Thompson. I'd never heard of her and though there are many archived articles about her, she doesn't even have a Wiki page.

She was never prosecuted, much less convicted, even though she had confessed to several murders. Her parents talked her into saying she made it all up, but the details she knew were too specific. I think people at the time didn't want to believe a 7 year old could do these things and chose to believe her later denial.

You be the judge.

Seems more like she was born with absolutely no moral compass or empathy.

Weird story. I have my doubts that a murderous child could grow up to live a normal, trouble-free life like she apparently did.

However, talking about mixing battery acid or broken glass into food seems oddly specific for a 7 yr old. And even if she did make that all up, it's cold-blooded of her to say she didn't care when her little sisters were suffering.

Given her absentee parents, it's possible she was so desperate for attention that she invented the whole story, but I feel like she did something nefarious. The psychiatrists at the time believed there was something wrong with her, even if her parents, teachers, and the DA didn't.
