New Orleans Shakedown

Ex-New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin exploits the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina by accepting bribes and corrupting the rebuilding efforts in the Big Easy. Nagin is accused of bilking the devastated city out of an estimated $500,000, taking expensive trips in private jets for him and his family, and orchestrating an exclusive granite contract for his son's company. He is convicted and is serving 10 years in federal prison.

I would take Nagin back in a heartbeat over our current mayor.

That should speak volumes about our city’s leadership.

To be fair, he never had a hotel collapse or interstate signs fall on traffic while in office

I bet C Ray sat in prison wondering how the Landrieus and Morials got so wealthy from office and he ended up in the slammer.

He didn’t understand the pay offs should come after you leave office through consulting fees and speech fees and big salary jobs with little responsibility ect.

I had a damn good time living there when he was mayor. a-hole cops everywhere, but the FQ killings were rare especially on bourbon and not as many homeless urchins. He would have booted the homeless out if it was up to him.

It’s sad that he was a better mayor than the current mayor.
