I prefer the $1 credit I got for digital stuff. But used prime pantry once and UPS lost my stuff. Amazon refunded it and gave me a extra month of prime for my troubles.

They rotate the credits. Sometimes it's free pantry shipping and the rest it's a $1 credit for books/music.

Is the catch that you pay $5.99 for shipping of the prime pantry box? I ask because I've never used their pantry service.

The credit is for the shipping. You can't use the credit towards the purchase of pantry items.

you can only use one at the time - so it is basically paying for shipping

Amazon Prime Pantry, 24 cokes....$10.08

Walmart, 24 cokes....$5.98

Amazon Prime Pantry is a ripoff.

I believe you can only use one $5.99 credit per order even if you have $30 worth. Pantry shipping is $5.99 so you basically just get free shipping since the credits cannot stack

Not when it comes to certain items. We use it to buy diapers, and the savings is substantial. Not talking about a dollar or two either.

It's not necessarily designed for beating out Walmart on grocery prices. Its purpose is a convenience of replacing consumables by having them delivered, with the added bonus of cost savings in certain cases.
