I love how this board shits on Whole Foods. As if you people have never shopped there.
I've "shopped" the salad bar. That's about it.
They are going to roll out that no cashier grocery store model to all these units. That's pretty cool. I may pay extra to avoid lines.

Also, I'd love to know where this dude shops. Walmart?
different places now. used to be only Leblanc's. Now it's Ralph's , Harvest or occasionally Rouse's.

Don't they just kind of do their thing and mind their own business?
Or do you a problem with Whole Foods shoppers giving you the side eye and muttering under their breath, "Oh, you have GOT to be kidding me!" at your location?

As long as they don't frick with the midday housewives walking around that place in lululemon then I'll allow it.
This! This right here is why I don't mind going there, sitting down and enjoying my $18.00 salad and $3.95 bottle of water every couple of days. You can't get scenery like that anywhere.

Let's be honest, you don't shop at WF because you feel inferior. It isn't the uppity people.

didn't Amazon recently open up a store where you could just go in, get shite and walk out and it like automatically charges you or something? Maybe this is their way of getting a bunch of stores to implement the new technology for no checkouts.

This board shits on everything. That's literally the history of the internet.
I don't do my normal shopping at Whole Foods, but they have nice breads, and interesting foods/beers that I don't mind trying.

Yeah, I was wondering how Amazon brick & mortar was going to expand. I guess we know now.

Costco down 7% this morning. Target down 10% and Kroger down 14%

But to say "I don't shop at WF because it's too uppity" is such a bitch thing to say.

hardly anyone other than loaded people that don't know how to shop and/or cook go to Whole Foods for groceries. It is kind of why they aren't doing so great anymore.
Meat selection, prepared food, and specialties items are still of high quality. Generally, have a great beer selection and mine as a fricking brewery in it.
Having said that: Central Market> Whole Foods

So does this mean I can now get a $7 bell pepper delivered to my door in two days??
Or their $18 chickens

I know a handful of people who do all of their shopping specifically at any store. Personally, I like WF's meat, bread, desert, wine and beer selection. Also the amount of yoga pants mom's that shop their is a plus.

When I use to think this board was filled with Libertarians I was always surprised with the hate that Whole Foods got given John Mackey's politics.
quote:
In an NPR interview in 2013, Mackey compared the Obama administration's healthcare law to "fascism" instead of socialism, stating, "[t]echnically speaking, it’s more like fascism. Socialism is where the government owns the means of production. In fascism, the government doesn’t own the means of production, but they do control it — and that’s what’s happening with our health care programs and these reforms."
quote:
he believes that "climate change is perfectly natural and not necessarily bad."
