We shared a beach house from last Friday til this past Wednesday with three other couples. All six of whom have tested positive for Covid.

The wife and I feel fine, and she wants to attend a big bash at the country club this evening (while I sit at the bar and watch the Tigers whup up on the Elephants). We are in our 80s and we have had the first two shots, but have skipped however many since then.

Burn incense or say prays for us. I'll let you know how this turns out. If you don't hear back from me, it's been fun.

Oh no, not Covid!

My kids both have RSV right now and I’m wayyy more worried about that than I am about Covid. You’ll be fine but yes, you’ll eventually die. Probably not from Covid though.

Bruh, I hate to break this to you, but yes you are going to die. Could be today, could be tomorrow, could by 70 years from now. But, barring the second coming of Jesus Christ Himself, you are going to die.

Scratch that part about 70 years from now.

maybe you had it first and gave it to the other couples.

covid doesn't hit everyone the same. maybe being vaccinated made it not as bad for you so you didn't notice, whereas your friends were not.

or maybe you just didn't get sick from it. I had a friend that I had covid around twice and they never got sick.

How is your overall health? Covid nowadays is by no means OG covid. You’ll probably be fine unless you’re obese and have preexisting conditions.

That's not enough. Should have got the last 10 and maybe you'd have a fighting chance.

RIP in peace

More like basically just have a cold or symptoms similar to that.

Also, i would still go to the function even had i been around those folks.

I never got Covid through all the fun last time so not my fault if someone else has a weak arse immune system and gets sick.

Your incubation period for it depends on the variant, according to WebMD.

quote:

On average, symptoms showed up in the newly infected person about 5.6 days after contact. Rarely, symptoms appeared as soon as 2 days after exposure. Most people with symptoms had them by day 12. And most of the other ill people were sick by day 14. In rare cases, symptoms can show up after 14 days. Researchers think this happens with about 1 out of every 100 people.

You're just a week out so the next 3 or 4 days will tell if you get it or not.

I have extended relatives in their 80s and they've both had it twice. Sick and miserable but they survived.

yes, but the good news is our resident three-patched mud checking badass Darth has died and miraculously came back to life, according to him.

Agree. Both my parents are in their mid-80s and had COVID about a month ago. Other than being old, they are both healthy. Started Plaxlovid with 48 hours and they felt better a couple of days later. Had some lingering congestion for another week but perfectly fine now.
