Do you think I'm just picking on blacks? Poor whites did those jobs, too.

Interesting how you didn’t mention that in response to my query

would identify with the Republican stand on most issues, except I am a tree hugger, and the GOP is godawful on the environment.

ETA and I'm not even talking about climate change. Just run of the mill stuff like preserving wild areas

Yeah I think global warming is such a political lightning rod that it detracts from so many other environmental issues that shouldn’t be controversial. Like I’d like to see more trees planted and I’m concerned about overfishing and water pollution and air pollution etc. But global warming always takes the spot light, precisely bc both sides can rally their bases.

Could you tell me who greatly benefits from proving it is actually happening.

Anyone who is a socialist or communist and wants the government to control everything. Democrats have even admitted recently that "Climate Change" isn't about the climate, it's about control of everything that's important to liberals.

Did you look at the CBS documentary about the plight of agricultural workers in 1960 USA? They were overwhelmingly black.

That and he was a moron. Guy was past his prime when he ran for president, the end of his life was terrible. Had no concept of when it was time to hang it up

Did you answer my question yet?

Also why are you comparing legal citizens from 60 years ago to our original discussion?

No I just think you're an idiot if you can't see the difference between 1960 and 2019 regards to unskilled labor

Are we going in circles here, or what? Unskilled American labor either worked or starved in 1960.

Both my mom and dad grew up picking cotton in the 50s and 60s with their brothers and sisters.

They are all white.

And that has exactly what to do with our current unskilled labor force?

Nobody has starved to death in this country since the depression. And even then it was rare.

My dad picked cotton, too. He actually "pulled" cotton.

So the poverty rates among blacks and whites were equal in the 50s and 60s? The levels of educational attainment?

You said people never lose their willingness to work, and I showed you examples that disprove that, with the common link of the American welfare system degrading that ability.

Bueller? Bueller?

Pssst... The American poor were skinny before Lyndon Johnson.

Now they are fat.

I don’t disagree that groundwater pollution and PM emissions are more imminent problems that need to be reigned in.

quote:

In every 85,800 molecules of air, 33 molecules are CO2. Of that 1 molecule of CO2 is from human activity

But this information is a common climate change denier talking point often parroted that is a misrepresentation of facts.

I am happy to provide sources or discussion of why these numbers present a false view of climate change science if anyone actually cares and would like to discuss the issue with an open mind.

As background, I don’t believe the world is ending in 12 years and think the media/politicians fear monger the issue.

But I’ve studied the science and just hate misinformation, especially in today’s world.

People who give a shite about climate change either do so because they’re scientists or politicians who are trying to further their own careers or lay people who want to satisfy their own vanity by claiming to care and putting bumper stickers all over their cars.

Because there is not a goddamn thing that can be done about climate change short of destroying the entire global economy and everyone with half a brain knows it.

You want to solve the climate change problem? Stop feeding poor people and let them die off.
