No. Bought it after marriage. It's an LLC.

Thing is, my business is worth maybe 400k. It's in debt 335k. How does this work? If she tries to claim the 65k asset, doesn't she have to claim 167k of debt? (That would be half)
If your golf clubs would sell for $400 but you still owe $335 on the purchase of them, then they are worth $65 to you (and your wife)

You probably have the wrong attorney then.

Offer to liquidate and split debts or ask her what her number is and take a loan out. I kinda did this when my ex went after my house lol I was in the middle of a remodel one of the bathrooms all stripped to the stud and spare bedrooms and kitchen stripped to the slab. Pretty much said I’m not spending another penny or working on the house and we can just sell as is. Then split the debt or profit that’s left. Which would be a debt at that time. Or we can agree on a number and I took the loan out the next day. She tried to get the money from my multiple time during the divorce lol don’t give her shite till divorce is signed by her and you.

She’s on that alimony pony.

You may have a little problem.

You'll split it down the middle, and she'll get the better half.
Why didn't you just learn to cook?

How many Auburn baws is it now with marriage problems on this board?

Ain't much to split down the middle. My business provides a service. Nothing else. 2 employees and a 2015 work van. No tangible assets. Just a customer portfolio.

Does the service involve meat processing, digging holes or explosives, by chance?

Is it your full time job? As in you pay yourself a salary you’d have to pay someone else to run the business or you take distributions? I mean sounds like it’s worth $65k/2= $32.5k to her. You pay her that to make it go away at worst Id assume.

You should try to split her 260 down the middle. 130 would be a decent amount.

Is it a plumbing business? Will she be getting one of the employees that can lay some pipe?

Yeah, it's my full time job. My lawyer says we get to deduct her pension from anything I might owe her.

She weighs probably 260

I'm 6'1". 220.
She maybe weighed 180 when we married.

She's trying to claim it as a marital asset.
Is she trying or is her lawyer trying to claim it? The lawyer might be throwing it out there with the expectation you’ll make a counter offer to own it free and clear.
If she’s serious and sticking to her demand, change the name of the business to “Fat Ex-Wife” before she gets part ownership.
