It is a nice mall to have and I'd hate to lose it. So many brick and mortar stores are closing. Is the Alec Mall doing OK? Anybody know? Is it in danger of closing?

Thanks.

I was there a few years ago, the guy has the Philly Cheese-steak place in the corner of the food court, hope they are still there.

It’s only a matter of time before it tanks. I bet they have 75,000 sqft of space available in there. I went by the other day and there was a 4 chair hair salon set up in the entire space that Express used to be. It’s pretty sad honestly.

Not really. They’re always having businesses shut down and making room for stores like “Fresh Thredz”

That should tell you what type of clientele they’re attracting

Does anybody know if the Philly Cheese steak place is still open in the corner of the food court. I have to pass through next week.

Let me help you out - where you want to go is a place called Critic's Choice - go to the one on Rue Verdun, off Versailles (via Jackson St.), behind B.J.'s Pizza.

THAT'S a Philly cheesesteak place. FFS, those folks are originally from Philadelphia.

I only go to that mall for kids pictures with Santa and Easter Bunny.

A few years ago, minors couldn't enter the mall without an adult on Friday and Saturday nights.

That mall has gone downhill big time over the last 10 years.

It is hanging in there...but certainly not a prosperous place. Indoor malls have become hard to manage to prevent a lot of loitering, etc. All of them are struggling a bit.

I can’t imagine a more depressing place than a mall in Alexandria

I basically reminded myself how good the place used to be at least to a kid. And those were all pre "new" mall before the extension. Remember the long hall down to the movie theater. The only movie I can definitely rem ember seeing there was the original Star Wars.
