Not a fan of his, but 45 million dollars for being a lunatic and talking bullshite seems excessive to say the least.

Not everything is a conspiracy theory. If my child died in a school shooting, I’d have a hard time listening to someone saying it was fake.
I would simply think less of the moron making that claim. I cannot imagine suing somebody and pursuing a financial payout simply because a moron said something stupid. Aren’t people allowed to be stupid?
I hope this gets overturned for the sake of free speech. I don’t want this to set off more of this crap.
Don’t most of us go through life hearing inaccurate statements about what we had to do to get that A, or get that job, or get that pay raise, or why our wives married us?
Should we now sue when somebody makes an incorrect statement that hurts our feelings?

He earned his space force stripes.

I forgot, did Jones tell his followers to go to their houses and harass them?
Surely those people were arrested. Sue them into oblivion.

No. I'm not going to sue the newspaper because they wrote a story about me or my company that's not true. I don't deserve their money.
You are part of the sue culture
I hope you never have plans to go to law school because you would be one of the shittiest lawyers ever. Go back and re-read the stupid shite you post.
Alex Jones made up to $800k a day from ads when he talked about Sandy Hook. He profited off of telling people that the Sandy Hook shooting didn't happen. As a result, there were people who believed him who decided to go harass the parents who lost a child from the Sandy Hook shooting.
If you are going to profit off of something you take on the responsibility.
This is some of the testimony by one of the kids parents.
CBSnews
They had people going to their house, calling, harassing them. Im sure if you had a kid who got shot by some retard (legit retard) because his gun happy mother left out her guns (I don't have a problem with her being gun happy, but when you know your kid is a mental you don't leave out guns for him. That crazy frick probably thought he was playing a video game) and then you received years of harassment because some rough voiced arse clown was making money by telling everyone your kid really didn't die because it was all staged, I am sure you would say "I don't want to be a part of the sue culture so I am going to let this crazy a-hole continue to profit from telling his listeners that my child really wasn't killed and I am not going to do anything about the people who keep harassing me because.. I don't like sue culture.
Sometimes filing lawsuits is the only to go after someone. You okay with him profiting from his bullshite, but don't like the fact the parents on suing him? Get the frick out of here with your "moral" bullshite of "not wanting to be part of sue culture".
You are a huge fan of Trump right? He is the master of lawsuits. Just google all of the lawsuits he has filed. He tried to sue Bill Mahr years ago because Mahr said something about Trump that Trump didn't like. Your hero is part of this "sue culture".
The law exist because if it didn't, those parents could have just handled it the old fashion way and tracked Jones down and killed him. But yeah... You don't want to be part of "sue culture" you ignorant mother fricker.

But 45 million? Yeah, what Alex Jones did is disgusting, but OJ murdered two people and was only charged with $33 million in compensation. That is fricking insane that Alex is being charged more than that.

Meanwhile, back at CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, Etc, they are laughing at Alex not being one of the elite like themselves who are never held to the fire for their outrageous BS they perpetuate and never have to pay the piper over it.
What laughable justice this is.

I agree. He dug this hole himself. And now he gets to pay for it

He got these parents shot at. They’re literally living in hell after the loss of their child and the harassment (criminal in some cases) they’ve received.
And he made money hand over fist over it. Nah, that sounds about right.

Don’t get me wrong that he should have to pay at least 7 figures, but 45 million is just excessive.
But he’s done after this.

CNN, NBC, and WaPo settled out of court with Sandmann for a similar lawsuit for millions more than that.

45 million doesn’t seem ridiculous to me for the shite he pulled tbh

Eh, there’s no telling the money they’ve spent in therapy, security, likely having to move, etc. What they’ve spent in the suit itself. And so on.
As said, it likely ends up less if Texas has a punitive cap. But at the very least it could shut his shite down. Which is should at this point.

Ummm, it’s about to get higher:

That's $49.3 million to two Sandy Hook families. Two more trials after this.
Yeah, he’s so fricked.
