Albertsons launches same-day grocery delivery service in Baton Rouge area

LINK

Albertsons shoppers in the Baton Rouge area now have the opportunity to have same-day grocery delivery thanks to a partnership with Instacart.

Groceries can be delivered in as little as two hours to around 140,000 households in Baton Rouge. The launch of the program includes seven Albertsons stores in the city. The company made the announcement in November of 2017 and is now expanding the program with the partnership with Instacart.

"Convenience is a big business these days, and we've seen incredible demand for faster grocery delivery options in the Baton Rouge area. Instacart's extensive delivery network, in addition to Albertsons' existing home delivery service, gives our customers more choices and flexibility when it comes to shopping. Today's shoppers are telling us how and when they want to get their groceries. Albertsons now provides efficient and speedy grocery shopping right to their doorstep," said Rick Sinconis, vice president of operations for Albertsons Louisiana.

SIAP

I'm genuinely surprised that Albertsons is actually making an effort.

I have noticed that Albertsons has made a quick change to the layout and looks on the inside of the stores over the last few months.

I think they realized that if they didn’t try to keep up with Rouses’s, they were gonna get crushed and crushed very badly.

They've gotta do something. Otherwise they'll be the next Winn Dixie.

Wonder how long it takes for a delivery driver to get robbed and or killed?

Interesting. Tom thumb/Albertsons is one of the better chains here in Dallas. I thought rouses in baton rouge sucked?

I’d like to see them do the trick where they keep a store open for longer than 5 years

They are renovating the one at Hammond Aire.

I'm shocked that the one on College Drive next to Wal Mart stayed open.

Isn't that like all of them that are open? I know the one on college has been there as long as I can remember.

I don't think any of their Baton Rouge area stores are younger than 15 years.

Remember when the Winn Dixie by Bailey’s/Cane’s was “the nice” grocery?

That was a really nice store when it opened.

Last time I was there a few years back, it needed a major renovation. They need to improve it soon now that a new Rouses is opening on Lee and Sprouts is opening on Perkins. Bet-R, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Calvin's, and Wal Mart are all nearby.

That area has more grocery competition than almost anywhere else in the state.

None of Albertson's locations are north of Florida Blvd.

That's racist, right?

They are still doing a big renovation. All of the liquor, wine, and beer is now in the middle of the store. Looks like a much better selection too
