Later in the article they said the issue was lack of a permit and the city did not have issue with the content of the sign. It may be back up later on. Or something new and fun.

Sooo...it was up for just 2 days. They told him to remove it by 5pm the next day, which he says he is going to do. Yet, he's "not backing down"? That's exactly what he's doing, he's complying with everything they asked lol. Not backing down would be leaving the sumbitch up more than 2 days

Nope. Permit needed. City said they had no problem with the message. I think they were alerted to the sign by the complaint and realized that they had not received what they needed for a permit --- $$$$$$$$$$$$
