In a situation like that you are shooting to eliminate the risk. You aren't going to be thinking pew, pew, pew....let's see if that did it? They shoot till the risk is subdued. Usually when they drop. That normally means death is coming.
This officer did not want that to happen at all. He didn't begin that stop to hope he gets to shoot someone.
