Airport security in U.S.A.

Why do some restaurant airports provide plastic utensils (and when asked about it, they state it is because of security restrictions) while others provide full silverware, which can be “snuck” on the plane and potentially used as a weapon?
Furthermore, why does TSA restrict liquids to under 4 ounces when one can buy, for an example, an 8 ounce bottle of hairspray, after clearing security and bringing it in their purse or laptop bag?
Just things that I have noticed while waiting today in the airport.

Not at all. I travel weekly and see the glaring differences in airport security between locations.
I’m genuinely curious as to how something like what I have described in OP can truly happen, if we are trying to reduce risks. Certainly, I can’t be the only one that has noticed this.

You know the answer. All that stuff before you get on the plane is security theater, nothing more. It's a big show so people can have jobs and bureaucrats can tout accomplishments and get money.

So much truth here.
Disney is the best. Hey let's pile up hundreds of people at security and bag check points.
If one were a terrorist intent on maximizing death and panic the sweet spot is just outside the security checkpoints.
None of it makes any sense at all.
Purely for show.

Yep - nothing but eyewash for the low-IQ folks.
BTW - the number of terrorists captured by TSA = 0 - perfect record.
