Old gretna or mcdonoughnaville the safest place in the entire state. No doubt. Gretna is 10 minutes from downtown. A ways to uno however

Do they just prefer to all stay in one house? For $150 a person a night they could get a couple suites in a nice hotel.

I don't even live in that city and know the west bank is trash.

You’ll be fine on the wank, it’s great if you’re on a budget. As others have said, old Gretna has some great spots, but don’t speed. Those bastards only have 4 blocks worth of town and they aren’t afraid to write tickets. Uber will take you downtown without a problem.
Algiers Point would still be my suggestion. Old homes similar to the quarter, easy parking, walking distance to the ferry, and few great local bars. I grew up in that area.
The best part about the west bank, is that you have a helluva view of the east bank.
