Is that tattoo illegal?

I'm not up on their regs - I'd defer to SCH or one of the other wingwipers.

They're cracking down on what is and what isn't allowed. My son has the USAF symbol on his back, but that's concealed in all reasonable uniform configurations. But he's an E-6 at 25 - and is on course to be the youngest E-7 in his squadron's collective memory. I can never overtly express this, but damn I'm proud of him (except for the tattoo).

He needs to finish his degree and go thru OTS if he's this smart...

I knew some E-5s at 20 in the USN, but that was the norm in the Nuke ranks.

E-6 by 23-24 if you cared enough to push the limit.

See - that's the thing - he's one of those tech "I don't need a degree, I can do the work" type of guys. You know? Always the smartest guy in the room, but wondering why all the college boys out earn him.

Yeah, we don't keep them very long nowadays. Since I became a flight chief in December, I've had five guys busted down and watched two get processed out for being turds.

That's easy to fix, though, Paige - USAF just keeps adding stripes on the lower part until it counts 5, then they do 3 over the top - he'll get a diamond, then write over it with a star, FTMFW

Thank god for the Specialist rank. Puts an end to tats like that.
